Share what your library does for you and your community

  • Call a local radio or TV station and share a story about how your library made a difference in your life or the life of someone you know
  • Write an op-ed or letter to the editor and send to a local print or online publication
  • Blog about what you geek and how the library supports you
  • Use social media, such as Facebook and Twitter, to spread the word
  • Add a custom e-mail signature with what you geek

  • Learn more about how your library is funded and what your library needs from the community
  • Sign up for e-mail updates (top right-hand corner) and follow Geek the Library on Facebook and Twitter
  • Call, write, or e-mail your library to let its staff know you appreciate their contributions to your community
  • Join a local library support group such as Friends of the Library
  • Organize your own library support group
  • Organize a fund-raiser for your local library
  • Volunteer at your local library or make a donation
  • Call, write, or e-mail a person of influence
