About 45 years ago, I went to Wisconsin on vacation to visit my older sister Gloria. She had somehow discovered her love for antiques and took my husband and I around to her favorite shops. Our first antique purchase was an adorable little 'pressed back' oak child’s rocking chair. We bought this at an old one-room schoolhouse for our then 18 month old daughter Sherry! Many, many, many purchases followed as we 'fell in love' with vintage and antique items. Soon we needed to buy a bigger house; and that's when we bought our ten room farmhouse and moved to South Lyon from Plymouth.

About 17 years ago, with the house and hay barn now full to the rafters, we decided we needed to start selling our over-abundance of beautiful things, and that's how Somewhere-in-Time Antiques got its start! We are still collecting and selling antiques at Silver Hills Antiques at Gustafsons in the beautiful little village of Pentwater on Lake Michigan on the west side of the state! And we couldn't geek it more!

Do you geek antiques? Come see us sometime and see if you geek the same things we do—it might be the beginning of a lifelong hobby or business venture for you too?

My library is in South Lyon and it has been an invaluable help to me in, first of all, learning more about the things I collect and geek, then in helping me research the values of the items I wish to sell. I geek the world of knowledge the library makes available to me without cost! I also geek the classes the library has offered to help me with poster making and advertising brochures, etc., and on and on and on. In short: I GEEK the library!
