I am a school librarian and this summer while fighting the Bay Area's foggy doldrums of summer's inevitable period of inactivity, I had the whole Berkeley Public Library and the Oakland Public library at my disposal. If there was a book I wanted, I found it in the catalog, put it on hold and went to pick it up...just like a pizza, except free!
