Well, my dad was an anthropologist and a self taught botanist. I grew up with a great appreciation for people, cultural diversity and plants. It stands to reason then, that I would love anthropological theory, herbal medicine and plants. I'm a nerd for all of those things. I'm majoring in ethnobotany because im a nerd, not because I will ever be able to find a job with a degree like that.
