Walking the dark, dank streets of London, I see Oliver Twist and The Dodger. I keep a close eye on them. When they've passed, I quickly check that my purse is still hanging from my arm. I am transported to distant lands and times by the masters of literature. Charles Dickens, Jane Austen, Virginia Woolfe and the works of the ancient Greeks are a feast for the imagination. What a luxury it is to experience these great writers and their stories.
